Par-ici is a shop just a stone's throw from the island, which specialises in selling locally made arts and crafts. The shop was founded in 1996 as a shopfront for many of the artists who were working from the studios in Eel Pie Boatyard.
The Eel Pie Club was founded in April 2000 by musician Tom Nolan and organisers Gina Way and Warren Walters. The aim of the club is to preserve the heritage of British rhythmn and blues in the area where it all began. The club has regular gigs and events featuring many of the musicians who used to frequent the original Eel Pie Hotel.
Because Trevor Baylis experienced so many problems when trying to get his 'Clockwork Radio' off the ground, one of his aims was to make it easier for other innovative individuals. This website has been set up as a means to help inventors get their ideas to market.
