these are some shots we took last month of the island.It still holds that magic some thing.
The 1st shot is off the island from the bridge, looking upstream,
the 2nd is the bridge to the island with lots of birds , they hang around for the food generously donated by the local children.
The 3rd is the bridge, again but the birds have flown,
the 4th is a hut on the boat yard , looks like an impressionist painter was let loose , but thats the thing with the island, you might think you are talking to a boat builder but he may have many other identities,
the 5th is the bird sanctuary , where all those birds came from, presumably,
the 6th is Laurence's fantastic boat/hut, where he crafts guitar's or writes his books, I think, will have to get an update.....

I live in Ontario, Canada, I have fond memories of the island as I used to fish from there as a small boy in the 1940's. My parents had there wedding reception there also. I know it is tidal but have never seen the water so low as shown in your pictures, is it always like this at low tide? It was a great place, sadly no more.
